I am a clinical psychologist registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and I am registered as a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). I have over fifteen years of experience working across various settings in the NHS and private practice. Currently, I provide psychological therapy to adults and adolescents.
WHAT I OFFER
I believe that there isn’t a one size fits all model for therapy and as such I work integratively with clients, meaning that the therapeutic approach I adopt is influenced by each clients’ needs. A lot of my work is informed by psychodynamic, systemic and existential approaches.
I know that each person is an individual and as such any difficulties encountered reflect your own life experiences, and the reasons/causes are therefore unique to you. I use psychological research to inform my practice and provide a supportive therapeutic relationship to enable you to explore yourself and your needs.
I am interested in helping you to develop an understanding of why you feel the way that you do and helping you to understand the influence of your life experiences. Often ways of being that we develop early in life utilised the best resources available at that time and helped then but may no longer be so helpful now. I feel that it is important to work collaboratively with you to help you to explore these patterns and to develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
I work flexibly and at a pace to suit you and your needs. Some people seek support in order to process a particular issue such as a bereavement or recent life event, others might want longer term therapy to work through and understand ongoing difficulties such as depression, anxiety, chronic health conditions, or to think about childhood trauma. Sometimes people seek out therapy because they find that life has become difficult or they feel a general dissatisfaction or unhappiness.
Fees vary depending on whether you are paying yourself or are funded by another source, and also according to the frequency and number of sessions. Each session last for 50 minutes.
Short term therapy sessions typically range from £80-£100.
I require 24 hours notice for a cancellation, cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are subject to the full fee.
For ongoing open ended therapy, we will agree a regular time, these sessions need to be paid for even if missed so that this time and space can be protected for you.
I have a fully enhanced DBS
I am registered with Axa, Aviva and Vitality insurance companies.
